Good Time Steel Spreads Festive Cheer with K2 Million Christmas Hampers

Good Time Steel Company has once again demonstrated its commitment to employee welfare after spending over K2 million Kwacha on the procurement of 2025 Christmas hampers for its workforce.

The festive hampers, which were officially handed over during a colourful ceremony, contained essential food items including 5 litres of cooking oil, 25 kilograms of mealie meal, 5 kilograms of flour, 2 kilograms of sugar, and 5 kilograms of rice, among others. Each employee received a hamper, easing the burden of festive season expenses for many families.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Group Human Resource Manager, Brian Kapembwa, said the initiative reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to recognising and appreciating its employees for their contribution to the company’s growth.

Mr. Kapembwa emphasized that Good Time Steel strongly believes employees must be supported, motivated, and valued, noting that their hard work plays a critical role in the company’s success.

He further stated that the company will continue honouring its employees not only during the Christmas season but also during Labour Day celebrations, as part of its broader employee welfare strategy.

Officiating at the event, Garden Park Ward 10 Councillor, Gerald Samboko, praised Good Time Steel for its consistent efforts to improve the lives of its workers and uplift the surrounding community.

Mr. Samboko described the company as a shining example that should inspire other businesses to invest in people and social welfare, adding that Good Time Steel’s commitment proves that corporate success and community development go hand in hand.

He noted that such initiatives contribute to making the ward stronger, safer, and more prosperous, while strengthening the bond between employers and employees.

“The Christmas hampers are more than just a gift,” Mr. Samboko said. “They symbolize Good Time Steel Group’s enduring partnership with its workforce — a partnership built on mutual respect, care, and shared success.”

Meanwhile, National Union of Commercial and Industrial Workers Regional Secretary, Fredrick Mukunga, commended the company’s management for the thoughtful gesture. He urged employees to continue demonstrating discipline and dedication in their work.

Mr. Mukunga stressed that a harmonious and productive work environment benefits both employees and management, contributing to sustained growth and stability.

The Christmas hamper initiative has once again reinforced Good Time Steel Group’s reputation as an employer that values its workforce and prioritizes social responsibility, setting a benchmark for corporate citizenship in the industry.
