Lusaka, Zambia — The National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) has commended Zambia Breweries for its investment in sports development following the official unveiling of the Castle Lite Arena at the National Sports Development Center (NASDEC).
The initiative, spearheaded by Zambia Breweries, involved a full refurbishment of the NASDEC upgrading the facility to modern standards and granting it a fresh identity under the Castle Lite brand.
NSCZ Executive Director Sombwa Musunsa praised the development, noting that the revitalised arena is poised to transform the landscape of basketball in Zambia.
He emphasised that the upgrade not only enhances the sport's visibility but also contributes to the broader growth and professionalization of athletics nationwide.
Speaking at the ceremony, Zambia Breweries Commercial Director Jacques Els highlighted that the state-of-the-art renovation demonstrates Castle Lite’s ongoing commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure, particularly for young athletes. He reaffirmed the company’s dedication to creating opportunities for youth to develop and excel in sports.
The launch also marks the beginning of Castle Lite’s one-year naming rights to the arena, a milestone that reflects the brand’s vision of delivering bold, refreshing, and memorable experiences for Zambians.
With the unveiling of the Castle Lite Arena, NASDEC is poised to evolve into Zambia’s newest hub for world-class entertainment, sport, and cultural events, reinforcing its status as a key centre for national athletic development.
