ZANACO Reopens Branch at UNZA to Boost Financial Access

ZANACO has officially reopened its branch at the University of Zambia, describing the development as a strategic step aimed at strengthening financial access and inclusion.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, the bank’s Chief Commercial Officer, Chali Mwefweni, said the reopening of the UNZA ZANACO Branch represents more than just a refurbishment of the facility.
He explained that the initiative is part of the bank’s broader strategy to expand its distribution network and bring financial services closer to communities.
Mr. Mwefweni noted that upgrading the banking facility at the country’s highest learning institution is a deliberate investment in the ecosystem that nurtures Zambia’s future workforce.
He added that the bank remains committed to supporting national objectives that promote financial literacy, digital safety, and inclusive access to financial services.
Meanwhile, Mundia Muya, Vice Chancellor of the University of Zambia, welcomed the development, highlighting the importance of convenient financial services for the institution.
Professor Muya said the university, which has more than 34,000 students and over 1,200 members of staff, requires efficient and accessible banking facilities.
He added that having a modern and customer-focused bank branch on campus will enhance convenience and operational efficiency for students, staff, and partners.
