WorldView Institute Zambia Limited has donated 150 trees in Mongole Chiefdom as part of its environmental conservation and afforestation programme aimed at promoting greener communities.
The institution, through its outreach programme at Chimpetu Community School, donated 100 trees directly to the school, while an additional 50 trees were given to the household of Headman Kaseba of Kaseba Village.
Speaking during the outreach programme, Executive Director Victor Nyasulu said the initiative forms part of the institution’s “Think Green” programme, which seeks to plant one million trees across Zambia by 2030.
Mr. Nyasulu said Chimpetu Community School is a newly established learning institution that has been enhanced through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), adding that the organisation considered it important to support the school through tree planting activities.
He explained that the programme is being implemented through the Shanga Project, which focuses on planting trees in schools and communities as part of efforts to combat climate change and promote environmental sustainability.
Mr. Nyasulu disclosed that the organisation has so far planted 10,000 trees with support from sponsors, volunteers, and various stakeholders supporting the initiative.
He further thanked the school leadership, Headman Kaseba, and the parent-teacher community for providing labour and support during the tree planting exercise.
The organisation says it remains committed to working with communities in promoting environmental protection and increasing awareness on the importance of preserving natural resources.
